ODAEE (Organization of the Americas for Educational Excellence) based in Brazil, declared International School of Tegucigalpa, Honduras, the winner of the 2009 Sapientić Educational Excellence Award; for the second consecutive year after having successfully passed the evaluation criteria at the Latin American level. Dr. Carlos Urbano Katamay, ODAEE president stated in a letter to Dr. Bertha de Flores, "This international distinction is a deserved recognition for your efforts and institutional achievements, the laudable task of education and culture that is evident in the valuable benefits provided to your country."
