Welcome to the 2010 - 2011 academic year! We are delighted that you are part of our school. Here at International School our mission is to form bilingual students with critical thinking skills, in order to achieve academic, personal, spiritual and social excellence. The IST faculty, staff, and administration understand that the ultimate meaning of "excellence" involves the nature, character and works of God. In keeping with our mission, we strive to offer the following commitments to IST students and parents:
• Effective, well trained Christian teachers who love the Lord and your children.
• Nurturing classrooms managed by teachers who strive to model the fruit of the
Spirit in all of their living."The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience,
gentleness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness and self control." (Gal. 5:22)
• Rigorous educational instruction at a level which students can succeed
with reasonable effort. Reasoning, critical thinking skills and internalization of
Christian values are important educational goals.
• Teachers to view parents as the primary educators of their children under God.
Christian teachers receive their authority to teach children from parents.
• Parents can expect written or personal communication from teachers to allow
parents to provide added assistance to the student.
• Blackboard updates so that parents can check on the progress of their student.
Again, we are elated that you are part of the learning experience here at International School and look forward to another successful year keeping in mind that it is our desire to develop students who will possess wisdom, knowledge and a Biblical worldview resulting in a lifestyle of Godly character, leadership, and service.
